FACE FRAMES GALLERY are honoured to showcase the work of Leslie Gaduzo in his first solo exhibition. Leslie was approached over a year ago, prior to having a space, when the gallery was nothing more than a few diagrams, scribbles and mind maps.

Leslie made the jump to painting full time after leaving his job as an architect a few years ago. Altough Leslie has been drawing and painting for over twenty years, his artistic career is now beginning to flourish as he hones his skill. Therefore, altough this 'introductory' exhibition is long overdue, it provides us with a unique opportunity to showcase Leslie's artistic output at a time when the artist is beginning to enter and win prestigous competitions.

This year Leslie has won Best on Show prizes at both the Fine Arts Association Summer Show and National Week Art Exhibition as well as Second Prize in the Gibraltar International Art Competition in 2013, along with numerous Highly Commended Awards in the last few years.

"I am very interested in the idea that paintings can be more than literal interpretations of what we observe. I prefer it when a painting says several things at the same time; texture, colour, tone, and abstraction, rooted in identifiable visual references that are around us every day. A different way of recording what we see, so to speak".
